Danby fridge not working but freezer is

Refrigerator has recently been disconnected for a period of time. Automatic ice maker is operating. Doors are opened too frequently or too long. Fresh Food/freezer door may be slightly open. Fresh Food/freezer gasket is dirty, worn, cracked, or poorly fitted. Correction: It is normal for the refrigerator to work longer under these conditions.

The heat in the freezer section is absorbed first, and until the freezer is cold enough to allow excess absorption capacity to reach the fridge, the fridge section will not cool. Keeping the freezer door open will just cause the absorption in that section to always run at capacity, leaving no excess capacity to absorb heat from the fridge section.
- If the defrost sensor trips because it's not working correctly, frost builds up on the evaporator fins, eventually making the refrigerator and freezer not cool well. You can use volt/ohm meter to check the defrost sensor for continuity. Replace the defrost sensor if it shows no continuity at around 0 degrees F.
